SwimFit
As part of our continued partnership with British Swimming, the ASA and British Gas, we have programmed SWIMFIT at our swimming pools. SWIMFIT powered by British Gas is an online club that provides a gym style programme for the swimming pool.
Swimfit is designed to motivate swimmers, increase your participation and allow you to gain valuable knowledge to improve your swimming.

SwimFit caters for all swimming abilities and is separated into four themes progressing from ‘Health’ through to ‘Competitive’.
Health
The Swim for Health category of Swimfit is designed if you probably swim once or twice a week and incorporate swimming as part of your healthy lifestyle programme.
It is unlikely to be your only physical activity you do in a week and your main purpose for swimming is to maintain your current health status. It is likely that you will only be comfortable swimming one or two of the four strokes.
If you would like to increase the time you spend swimming and/or the intensity then look at the Shape up and Tone programmes.
Shape up and Tone
The Shape up and Tone category of Swimfit is designed if you want to maintain your current weight but want to achieve a more toned appearance or may be part of a weight loss programme.
In order to achieve your goals you should aim to swim about 2/3 times per week. You will probably be comfortable swimming two of the four strokes.
If you would like to increase your time spent swimming or the intensity levels take a look at the Fitness programmes.
Fitness
The Fitness category of Swimfit is designed if you use swimming as your primary source of keeping fit.
You are probably interested in improving your fitness level rather than just maintaining the status quo. You will aim to improve your physical appearance and ensure that your heart and lungs remain in tip top condition.
In order to achieve your goals you will should aim to swim a minimum of 3 times per week and will include some high intensity activity. You will probably be comfortable swimming two or three of the four strokes.
If you would like to consider competing, or you are already a competitive swimmer but cannot always make club sessions, you may want to take a look at the Competitive programmes.
Competitive
The competitive category of Swimfit is designed if you have aspirations to complete or if you are already competing but need additional sessions to supplement what you already do in a club situation.
The aim of the Competitive theme is to improve personal performance as measured by the time taken to cover a range of distances.
