New gym opens at Isleworth Leisure Centre and Library
Work has now been completed on phase two of the exciting new development at Isleworth Leisure Centre and Library, previously known as Isleworth Recreation Centre, on Twickenham Road.
The new state-of-the-art gym is now open with high specification resistance and CV machines, including treadmills and crank cycles. The gym also has a fantastic view over the swimming pool and onto the park.
The two studios opened earlier in December and the new classes such as Zumba and spinning on the static bicycles, are proving really popular. The new entrance area is taking shape and is due to open in the New Year. As well as including a cafe serving Starbucks coffee and a crèche it will provide a link to the new library.
Changing facilities have been refurbished giving improved facilities for families and groups and the surrounding will be landscaped the existing multi-use sports pitches will be resurfaced.
Justin Davies, general manager of at the Isleworth Leisure Centre, says: “The new gym marks the near completion of the refurbishment project and we’re well on the way to providing the community with a superb modern leisure centre and provide affordable facilities you would normally only expect to find in expensive private clubs.
“We plan to hold an open weekend next February and I hope that the local community and people working in the area will enjoy this new and improved facility.”
Cllr Pritam Grewal, Hounslow’s lead member for leisure and wellbeing said:
“It’s been a major task to restore and refurbish the old Isleworth Recreation Centre and by adding shared café and social areas, there will be a variety of spaces where all members of the community can enjoy a variety of leisure activities.
“The new gym adds a five star quality to the facility and I hope that local people will be delighted with the excellent leisure centre at very reasonable prices.”
